Behind the Letters

Jam Kat is the name of the island my brother and I always said we’d live on one day. Of course, little us thought owning an island was totally possible. Now, decades later—and after his passing—I see it as a place to send my thoughts, a way to still share a piece of me with him. Hence the name Jam Kat Letters.

Writing a poem a day (or at least trying to) helped me through a confusing time in my life. It gave me a way to make sense of my anger, sadness, and uncertainty—turning it into something tangible, into art. As you can see, I’ve moved on to different topics—it’s not all heartbreak anymore. If you relate to my earlier writings, I’m sorry. I hope you’re doing okay now too.

But this page isn’t just about heartbreak. Each day, I write about something that moves me—something happening now, a memory, or even a story from a friend. I hope you find something here that resonates, maybe even something that helps you learn a little about yourself, like I did.

Thanks for reading :)
